Here are more fun jewelry critters from Jewelcollect members.

Sterling Persian Cat Brooch

It's rare to find feline jewelry depicting Persian cats and this sterling pin really shows  the attributes of Persians: fuzzy, playful and lots of personality.  It reminded me so much of Emmy, my silver tabby fur-child, so I just had to have this one!   Now that Emmy is gone, this piece means even more.

Boucher Enameled Octopus

I dearly love figurals, especially early MB's, and my attraction to this piece lasted far longer than any other.  Although I’m not attracted to the sea or even the color red, it kept drawing me in week after week.  I made my purchase many months after first seeing it (or after it first saw me!), and now it’s my favorite shoulder pet.

Carolyn Newhouse

Pet Ying & Yang

This early Arts & Crafts bulldog is quite a serious fellow as his face breaks out, and I find him irresistible.   The laughing potmetal Puss N Boots from the 1930's adds a little levity and lightens up Mr. Dog.

Shelley Price

Victorian Beetle Pin

This is a real iridescent beetle, made into a pin that dates from the late Victorian era.  It reminds me of many years ago when I was a US Merchant Marine and worked on oil tankers. Sailing around the globe to strange foreign ports, I had a special way to capture a huge collection of foreign bugs, beetles, butterflies and moths that were stuck to the huge air intakes.  Many were very strange critters, and they were always a great conversation topic on board ship ~ just my way to avoid boredom at sea !

Black Plastic Prancing Cat

This 1930's kitty really struts.  He is made of black plastic with a very slight swirl of orange and an orange bakelite C-clasp.  One of my first collectable jewelry purchases, I bought him because he resembles my own pet, Spike, who is not really a cat but a tiny person living inside a cat suit.

Elephant from Munich

This elephant guy just stole my heart when I found him in a Munich antique shop last spring.  He is bakelite and lucite, and thought I could swear I had once seen a similar animal in a book at some time, I sure can't find anything in all the books I have.  I am so curious about him, but most importantly I think he's just darling.

Sir Walter O'Murphy Memorial Tree

On the passing of my beloved Murphy, Jr., I commissioned Bee Gee McBride to make me a Memorial Tree.  His is my eBay nickname, and MJ put an actual photo of him in the treasure chest that is my website logo. Thus, this is very special piece to me.

Lion King Gem

What I love about this unmarked brooch is the detailing on his hind leg, the way his teeth show. . .and all those wonderful, sparkly gems that I wish were real!

Whimsical Bird

This comical bird is one of twelve different pins on a velvet pad, imported from Spain in the 1970's.  He reminds me of Heckle or Jeckle.   [Ed. note:  always good for a laugh?]

Fur and Feather Faves

The Ian Gielar pin, with the mother monkey holding a baby monkey that holds a heart, was a gift to me from Ian. When I first saw it, I thought it was a little freaky, but they've grown on me, and now I love them.  I had been admiring the jaybird necklace in an antique store, and my husband sneaked back and bought it as a gift for our 20th anniversary.  It was the first time he had ever bought me a piece of vintage jewelry.  Since I am a cat person, I love wearing the little black cat in the pumpkin near Halloween.

Ann Pitman

HAR "Blue" Kitty Brooch

I came across this pin about 2 days after my sweet cat, Samantha (aka Mammy), was diagnosed with lymphosarcoma.  I was heart-broken and identified with her worried look.  The canary seems to be singing in her ear to cheer her up.   Mammy helped me through a bad time 10 years ago which lead me to work as a feline rescuer and rehabilitator.

Trevor in Bakelite

This brooch was a special gift from Cathy Gordon and was artfully created by Brad Elfrink to look just like my long haired, "dapple" doxie, Trevor, inherited from my daughter who died 7 years ago.  The carved bakelite looks like Trevor's black, brown and white fur as he's racing off for his favorite treat — a raw carrot.

Sterling Lovebirds

This brooch is special to me because it was found in terrible condition and my husband completely restored it for me. Why?  Because we have been "Love Birds" for 58 years!
