Come share the fun and fellowship as we each share our favorite pieces of people jewelry.   Whether elegant, sentimental or whimsical, these jool people, gathered from around the world, are a delight to behold!

Mazer Ballerina

From 1947, this lovely ballerina is so graceful in her unusual pose.  As soon as I saw her, I knew I needed to expand my collection of ballerinas beyond the Boucher pieces.  (Ad)

Will Rogers

For me, this lucky auction win epitomizes Will Rogers, America's favorite cowboy philosopher.  He's leaning on a fence post about to spin a yarn or drop one of his famous quotes:  "There is something about riding down the street on a prancing horse that makes you feel like something, even when you ain't a thing."

Shelly Price

Handsome Lad Portrait Pin

This is my first portrait brooch—under glass…I raised five boys and think of every one of them each time I look at this young boy and wonder about his life.  I love the ornamentation of tiny seed pearls and rhinestones surrounding the portrait.

Distinguished Blackamoor

I chose this Coro pin because it is the only one like it I have ever seen. It is very heavy and has the early 1940's script Coro Signature. The enamel is original and it measures 2 inches tall. I like the distinguished look upon his face. (for sale)

Emotional Face Pins

Don't know why I like these face pins. The larger ones look so stern, as if in judgment about something.  The earrings were shy and hid, so they aren't in the image.

Alice Leonard

Calvaire Ropers

Here is my favorite couple, a cowboy and cowgirl by Calvaire, complete with original tag.  I collect jewelry couples and these are my current favorites because of the great detail and how unusual the pieces are.

~ The North Wind ~

This Sterling Silver Fur Clip was created by Guglielmo Cini. I have named him the "North Wind" because I grew up in Minnesota where the north winds would blow & howl with the temperatures dipping to 40 below zero.  As a little girl drifting off to sleep at night, with ice shadows on the windows and all the rattling,  I dreamed about "The North Wind"!

Angel Cameo

This carved shell, unset cameo spoke to me when I first saw it, especially since it faces the opposite direction from most cameos.  I submitted this detailed angel in memory of those wonderful JC angels who are now brightly, sparkling, angels in heaven.

Nancy Goetze

Charlie - My Diminutive Chum

I could not believe my good fortune at finding Charlie McCarthy, (Coro - 1937) the dummy of the radio, fur clip, at a recent show in Honolulu.   He has a special lever that when pressed moves the lower lip and chin exactly like the original.   More details can be found in "Tribute to America" by Brunialti and Brunialti, pp. 66-67.  While only about 1¼" by ¾", he's adorable!

Juanita & Juan Dance

I love this couple, who obviously have plenty of energy to dance every time I wear the earrings.  They are made by Ellen Jaffe-daughter of one of the owners of Robert Originals, Inc.   Ellen Designs for Robert Originals became Ellen Designs in 1984. (for sale)

Rhinestone Cowboy

This fellow is my own personal "Rhinestone Cowboy".  I come from a long line of cowboys and wannabe cowboys, so of course it is one of my favorites.  I haven't got up enough courage to wear it yet.  It is rather large measuring 3" by 1¾".

Marilyn Ross

Oriental Faces Set

This is my absolute favorite 'face' jewelry.  For years I had the bracelet marked in Cherri Simonds' book and always looked for it wherever I went. Then I saw this set at auction and paid more than I've ever paid for a piece of vintage jewelry.  I felt like the earrings were a bonus!

Har-de-har?

Although only 1¾" tall, this HAR colorful enameled brooch brings a great big smile to my face every time I see his pudgy cheeks, pink nose and outrageous outfit. The chuckles he gives me makes him one of my favorites.
